HNG DevOps Stage0 Task

Objective: NGINX Configuration
In this project, I’ll host a simple html page on an Nginx server running on an EC2 instance on AWS. This task will demonstrate ability to work with basic web server configurations and deliver a functional web server.
For this project we’ll be making use of the following services
AWS (EC2): Virtual machine for the server.
Nginx: web server application.
Implementation
Create an EC2 instance that allows HTTP traffic from the internet.


SSH into the instance and install Nginx software.


sudo apt install nginxDownload the html file from github

Move the html file to /var/www/html/index.html, replace the existing html file and restart nginx server


Confirm the web page is successfully running on EC2 using the IP address

How this task contributes to my learning and professional goals
This task serves as a foundation for my DevOps journey by providing hands-on experience with one of the most widely used web servers, NGINX. Setting up and configuring NGINX has helped me gain practical knowledge of server administration, file management, and basic networking concepts.
From a professional standpoint, this task is a stepping stone towards mastering web server deployment, which is crucial for roles such as DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, and Site Reliability Engineer. Understanding NGINX configuration is also beneficial for managing reverse proxies, load balancing, and securing web applications.
